Jimmy Hovermale is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
Jimmy earned his master’s degree from VCU’s School of Rehabilitation Counseling and has experience providing therapy to individuals and couples with a focus on interpersonal processes, family systems, and cognitive behavioral approaches. With a research background in university and hospital settings, Jimmy places great value on evidence-based practices. This research history combined with outpatient and residential counseling experience has given Jimmy the opportunity and knowledge to work with individuals from all walks of life.
Jimmy works with clients to create an accepting and safe therapeutic experience. He also helps clients to develop insight, coping skills, and self-compassion to manage grief and loss, addiction, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, life and role transitions, and more.
